Lugar ES. Collective Exhibition March 20 till April 21 2012.

From our affinity with architecture, we know the difference between a "place" and the "notion of a place", even though confusing it deals with the diffuse and complicated relationship between presentation and subject, between reality and language. But that distinction will be on occasion important so that the various forms of relationship may be presented.

LUGAR ES (places) in nets, simultaneous existence of other utopies coexisting creatively in our imagination. 

LUGAR ES that belong to you ... symbolic, private, silent. Or the very contrary, abstract dehumanizaed, noisy.

The extension of air and its limits. ¿Is this substance we calll air real? ¿Where is my painting to br found? I look for the gesture, in my calligraphy, to grab the air that surrounds me. It is the white space where air doesn´t exist, where my gesture does not reach, what sets its limits.

Air in space. ¿Does space exist without air? The air that creates space we call atmosphere. Where my work is created. Atmosphere that is real, physical, and created atmosphere. It is the air fiction and reality. And painting as vehicle of expression, catalyst of atmospheres, bursts in creating emotion. Visual and poetic. Calligraphy of signs that turn into symbols. Colours that blur in the space created, in the air inhabited.

Extract from a letter to Iñigo Y.

From sometime back, in sculpture ather arts and in teaching, I am looking for concepts that have to do with precision, the intimate adjustments, exactitude and concision.

Sculpture is a the plastic discipline I have chosen to express a particular view of the world. A personal and intimate view. It makes me work hard all afternoons. I draw, read, design, solder, I compose pieces, return to draw trying to find -a difficult task- a language with which to express certain breath of things; a joyfull game where the process is almost always satisfactory.

The sculpture and architecture which interest me the most are produced within a very concise and containes geometry, whre rigour and exactitude play with the silence. The construction I propose for my works, has the need to produce extremely clean pieces, where all parts of the work justifies its position and size in an assembly that seems the most logical, the most rational; each part must occupy a precise space and must dialogue with the rest of the work and the light that surrounds it.

The work I show at Material Galería - sculptures, drawings and engravings - is a selection of pieces made in the last five years which express themselves in a pure geometry and collect from the tradition of precisionism, suprematism and the cold geometry.

Trayectorias. Luís Dubon. Exposición Individual. 9 de diciembre aL 7 DE ENERO 2012. 

La exposición TRAYECTORIAS que ahora presento retoma una idea constante en mi trabajo que se refiere al hábito de imaginar biografías de las personas con las que coincido en cualquier momento del día.

Todo mi trabajo se centra en la figura humana como contenedor de voces, de recuerdos e ilusiones, de ambiciones y miserias. En todo lo que configura una vida humana, una trayectoria vital de cualquier persona. La mayoría de esas trayectorias que me rodean no puedo conocerlas, pero sí imaginarlas y pintarlas.
