La exposición TRAYECTORIAS que ahora presento retoma una idea constante en mi trabajo que se refiere al hábito de imaginar biografías de las personas con las que coincido en cualquier momento del día.

Todo mi trabajo se centra en la figura humana como contenedor de voces, de recuerdos e ilusiones, de ambiciones y miserias. En todo lo que configura una vida humana, una trayectoria vital de cualquier persona. La mayoría de esas trayectorias que me rodean no puedo conocerlas, pero sí imaginarlas y pintarlas.

When we find an extraordinary piece of art, we feel something that gets to the innermost part of ourselves and hurts us. According to scientists, the mind then feels obleged to make a general reorganisation because of the assimilation of that new experience and cannot face it within the bounds of traditional recognition.

As a result of such reorganisation, something new is created. This process may be called creation.

It could be said that the difference between our cognoscitive system and the real world is the food for our dreativity. Because of this, we must go on feeling this difference and receive that deep hurt. We need to relate to the exterior, that is to the world.

Individual Exhibition. september 27 to October 29

Appropiation of images from pasts to be presented on an hipermodern format. Paintings built on successive layers of pictorical images on a visual and open hypertext. Words and letters as formal elements both composistive and as background. Strange images for a world that does no completely understand itself.

The artist salvages images to be presented under a contemporary plasticity that shuns pictorial craft as well as personal expressionism substituing them for an aseptic and depersonalizaed mode. The exhibition´s title is taken from the gallerist Iván Dasto and the idea refers to the way the conceptual discourse is sustained by a series of images, that try to convey an idea through the emotional conexions produced between themselves.

It is an open work. A staging of images that will define one discourse or another depending upon the experiences and the memory of the spectator. The opportinuty is offered to adapt their reading in order to rescue mental images also stratyfied in the spectator´s memory. They are artistic modes apprppiate to the hypermodern times of today where dislocation, heterogeneity, fragmentation or deconstruction and randomness, feedback an image with which we can identify ourselves and make it our own.

AERIAL BUILDINGS AT THE MADRID TOWERS.

Colective exhibition from 6 till 24of september.

The exhibition "Aerial Buildings at the Madrid Towers" signals the beginning of the season 2011 - 2012 at Material Galería. Like last year we wanted to start off with the selected works from the final year at the architecture school of the Universidad Europea de Madrid. The works exhibited were produced at the course "Construcción III" of the departament of building technology during the 2010 - 2011 term and tutored by Enrique Seco.
