AERIAL BUILDINGS AT THE MADRID TOWERS.

Colective exhibition from 6 till 24of september.

The exhibition "Aerial Buildings at the Madrid Towers" signals the beginning of the season 2011 - 2012 at Material Galería. Like last year we wanted to start off with the selected works from the final year at the architecture school of the Universidad Europea de Madrid. The works exhibited were produced at the course "Construcción III" of the departament of building technology during the 2010 - 2011 term and tutored by Enrique Seco.

The projects shown propose an investigation where from different material systems new possibilities may be explored where the technologies of parametric design and digital fabrication ultimately develop new forms and bulding techniques.

Numerical analisis is present along the whole process and makes the participation of the most diverse condiitionings possible. Tensile status, material qualities, environmental constraints or the ultimate fabrication details can be dealt with in a trail that owing to constant retroactivity develops into a sort of digital morphogenesis.

Nowdays digital design and fabrication procure new possibilities for material integration and structural order which in turn open up formal suggestions completely new to the architectural tradition. In the works presented here a certain weightlessness is brought to the cosntruction of buildings in so far as the projects are suspended from the macrostructure of skyscrapers. Then all six elevations emerge as does an exciting relationship with the envirnonment.
